Hackathon Terms and Conditions
The event is focused on providing a harassment-free experience for everyone, regardless of gender, gender identity and expression, age, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, previous Hackathon attendance or computing experience (or lack of computing experience).
We do not tolerate harassment of hackathon participants in any form.
Your registration will be accepted at the sole discretion of the organizers. Where your registration is not accepted, a full refund will be made available.
The Hackathon is a skills based competition and chance plays no part in determining the winners.
Your minimum viable product (MVP) may be a built prototype, design, demonstration, working code or mockup. You will have only 5 minutes to present your MVP at the pitch presentation.
Your MVP must be created by yourself or your team (all names submitted to the organisers). Your MVP must have been created during the course of the event, not pre-made.
The intellectual property in your MVP must be your own or the owner clearly identified.
The judge’s decision is final and appeals will not be considered. Your MVP will be assessed according to:
- Alignment to challenges set out in the HackPack
- User experience
- Product execution and functionality
Prizes will be awarded after the pitch presentations. Prizes are not transferable and are to be divided up amongst the team members as the team sees fit.
Winning teams acknowledge that they may be requested to participate in media interviews.
Participants retain all ownership of intellectual property in their MVPs.
Hackathon participants violating these rules may be sanctioned or expelled from the Hackathon without a refund at the discretion of the organizers.
